TISS  The Telecommunication and Information Services Squadron (TISS), under the direction of the Wing Telecommunications and Information Services Officer (WTISO), is responsible for the maintenance of airfield navigational aids, non-tactical communication systems, telecommunications equipment and IT resources. In addition, the squadron provides services that include telephone administration, leased facilities, switchboard services and networking operations. The squadron is also responsible for the provision of messaging services and maintenance of both internal and external cable plants. In addition to supporting 14 Wing, TISS provides technical support to local area militia and cadet units; the Armoured Battle School Detachment Aldershot, the Pearson Peacekeeping Center in Cornwallis and the Canadian Coastal Radars located in Barrington and Sydney. TISS administrative offices are located in 4 Hangar, as are the telecommunications, IT and cable plant maintenance sections. The remaining workshops are located on the operational side of the Wing in the IFRCC and Meteorology section buildings. |
